2023 Summer Intern - Accounting & Management Reporting (Fully Remote)

Where you’ll work: Our hybrid workplace model offers employees the freedom to work fully remote or occasionally in one of our offices.

All internships will be fully remote. How you’ll contribute: As an Accounting & Management Reporting intern, you will work on a team that develops insurance related business knowledge by analyzing and interpreting

trends in financial results. This work will help Brighthouse Financial prepare quarterly financial information provided to senior management as well as the shareholder and analyst community while mitigating risk and enhancing the accuracy of our financial results.

In this role, you’ll get to: • Assist in the preparation of GAAP and Statutory journal entries, including investigating all variances in premiums, fees, other income, benefits, and interest credited income statement lines. • Assist in the completion of GAAP and Statutory income statement and balance sheet analysis. • Assist in the preparation of documentary support for all reported information, including business data, core financial statements, footnote disclosures, and schedules as applicable. • Assist with the collection of and preparation of support for ad hoc requests for financial data used by various internal and external stakeholders.

• Participate in special projects as needed. We’re looking for people who have: • Sophomores and Juniors studying Finance/Accounting. Seniors planning to attend grad school are also eligible. • 0-2 years of experience in Accounting and Financial Services • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Effective time management and prioritization • Excellent verbal/written communication skills • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point What you expect from an internship with Brighthouse Financial: • $23/hour pay; 40 hour work weeks (with the exception of holiday weeks) • 10-week summer program: 5/30/2023 to 8/4/2023 • Practical application and skill development at a FORTUNE 500 company • Learning and development opportunities offered throughout the program • Networking opportunities with senior executives • Community service events Why join us?
