Summary Assists Accounting Director and Senior Staff Accountant in providing for the day-to-day financial and record-keeping operations for Habitat-Spokane.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Account Reconciliations Perform various account reconciliations for vendors, bank, and other customers.

Research transaction history to resolve any unreconciled items. Accounts Receivable Process reports from mortgage company and record mortgage payments in Quick Books. Review and verify that all donation receipts are in Raiser's Edge database and are coded appropriately.

Payroll processing bi-monthly. Posts cash, check, credit card and ACH payment transactions to the correct bank account. Complete remote deposits. Invoice/Bill intra-entity transactions. Invoice tenants for utility bills. Generate ACH transactions through the bank website. Resolve outstanding A/R by examining client loan agreements, payment history and contacting clients. Collects on accounts by sending statement reminders and communicating with clients via phone, email, fax or mail. Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating transactions. Reconciles the accounts receivable ledger to subsidiary accounts to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.

Maintains client accounts for current contact information. General Accounting Duties Makes journal and ledger entries in Quick Books and Excel as directed. Assists Accounting Director & Senior Staff Accountant in A/P & A/R best practices and reconciling GL accounts. Produces monthly, quarterly, annual and special reports as directed. Assists with government fund reporting, forms, regulations and grant billing as directed. Ensures confidentiality and policy following in all aspects of Habitat accounting and homeowner issues.

Preserves financial historical records by filing accounting documents. Maintains financial security by following internal accounting control. Attends all Habitat-Spokane Events. Promotes the Mission of Habitat-Spokane. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
